Megan

Owner

Megan has worked at Stars of the pool since October 2020, and took over in May 2023. She started swimming when she was very young. Ever since then, swimming has always been a part of Megan's life. She competed for Bridgend County when she was 10 years old, was a member of Southerndown Surf Lifesaving Club and swam for her University swim team where she was also the secretary for 2 years.

She decided to become a swimming teacher in January 2020 and has loved every minute of sharing her enthusiasm and love of swimming with her classes.

Favourite stroke: Front crawl

Megan's top tip:  Moving your arms quicker doesn't always make you go quicker ......... and tie up your hair( it helps to keep your goggles in place!!!!)

Sophie

Swimming teacher

Lara

Swimming teacher

Lara started swimming with Bridgend County Swim squad when she was 9 and progressed through the club from swimmer to coach. This then inspired her to begin teaching children key life skills and ways to be safe but also have fun in the water.

Favourite stroke: Butterfly (but loves teaching breaststroke)

Top tip: Always relax, when you are relaxed it all begins to come together.

Bryony

Swimming teacher

Bryony got into swimming whilst volunteering for her Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award. She found it both rewarding and challenging so decided to qualify as a swim teacher to encourage and motivate children to gain a valuable life skill. There is much pleasure gained from seeing a non-swimmer gain skills and confidence and become a competent swimmer.
